Rambo came from Peggy Hogg of the DRAGONFIRE Kennel in the USA at
eight months old. He was a character and always begging for attention. He loved to be carried in my arms like a baby and go with me to the office everyday where he had his own corner by my desk. At 14 months old,
he was sent to Canada, where he finished his title in just two weekends, shown by Wendy Paquette. Then he was sent to the U.S. for his title, where he finished with Miwako Hosaka at the end of the leash. He came back to the Philippines six months later with two new titles and went on to win a BEST IN SHOW under Judge Mariko Harase of Japan. His most memorable win was getting the ASIAN CHAMPION award at the First AKU show in Manila and winning BEST IN SHOW under Jane Kaye of the U.S.
Rambo is special to me because he was the first dog I had campaigned in different countries. The other foreign-titled champions I owned were finished by their previous owners, but Rambo gave me the thrill and excitement of planning his show career step-by-step. Through this experience, I learned the ropes of campaigning a dog in a foreign land, dealing with handlers, making decisions on where to show him, etc., thus
preparing me to reach the next level in the competitive world of dog showing. It also helped tremendously that Peggy was there as my mentor and friend, without her, ACHILLES SHIH TZU would not be where it is today.
